What is counselling?

Counselling means talking with an impartial listener, someone who will help you to deal with life in a healthy way. In a safe and supportive setting you can rest assured that your issues will be kept confidential. A counsellor is someone who will treat you with respect and without judgement.

What we are today comes from our thoughts of yesterday, and our present thoughts build our life of tomorrow: Our life is the creation of our mind.”
The Buddha

You can expect your counsellor to be there to encourage you to draw on your own resources and to support you in developing self-acceptance and to make any changes that you want in your life.

You don’t have to be in crisis – many of our clients see it as a personal care activity like going to the gym. Couples with busy lifestyles sometimes say that it’s good to have a clear time and space where they can focus on their relationship and express themselves to each other.

How you wish to use the sessions, and how frequently you have counselling is up to you.
